Q: What is registration?
A: Registration is the process of having a licensed registrar with the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) physically examine your rabbit to determine if it is a sound representative of the breed standard.
Q: What are the qualifications for registration?
First, the owner must be a member of the ARBA and must have their ARBA card with them at the time of registration. A rabbit must be at least six months of age and have a full three generation pedigree. A copy of this pedigree must be given to the registrar. The rabbit must be purebred and a breed and variety (color) that is recognized by the ARBA. The rabbit must meet all senior breed requirements and may not have any disqualifications. The rabbit must be considered by the registrar to be a good sound specimen that represents the breed accurately. The standard for each breed is outlined in the ARBA Standard of Perfection and is available online through their website.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Registration is currently $6 per rabbit.
Q: Where can I have my rabbits registered?
We can register your rabbits for you at our rabbitry in Indiana. Also, all ARBA sanctioned shows (except for fairs) must have a registrar available to register rabbits. You can find shows in your area by visiting the ARBA website.
