The Basics
Blue Ribbon Rabbitry is located in the Indianapolis metro area (about 15 minutes from the airport) and is owned by Kelly (Bird) Flynn and Peter Flynn. At Blue Ribbon Rabbitry we
continuously strive for high levels of quality in our herd. We have raised rabbits for ARBA show competitions since 1995.
Our rabbitry is registered with the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) and we are both members of the organization.
Kelly is a licensed registrar (#151) with the ARBA. In addition, she is currently the District 8 Director and Webmaster for the American Tan Rabbit Specialty Club (ATRSC).
We support the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). We voluntarily follow the ASPCA guidelines for responsible breeding.

Rabbitry History
Our rabbitry began in 1995 with a New Zealand white rabbit that was a 4-H project for Kelly. From the start, she also attended local and state ARBA shows. In 1999, she attended her first ARBA National Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky.
In 1999 Kelly added black Tans to her all New Zealand herd. Most of our stock originates from Malibu Rabbitry (Joe Kim). Since the beginning blacks have been the focus, with a few blues and chocolates popping up in litters from time to time thanks to the wonders of genetics.
Kelly was (and remains) very involved in rabbit educational contests. Her first time competing in rabbit royalty she won at the state level and became
the 1997 Indiana State Fair Rabbit Royalty Princess. Again at the state level she won Duchess in 1999 and Queen in 2002.
In addition to judging and helping with rabbit ambassador/royalty contests, Kelly also loves judging 4-H shows throughout the state. She also works
as the official registrar at many ARBA shows each year.
Peter joined the rabbitry in 2005. In 2006, we made the hard decision to sell the New Zealands and focus solely on the Tans. While the New Zealands are missed,we believe this decision has only further benefited our Tan herd.
Peter and Kelly married in May 2009 and live with the rabbits and their two (furry) children -- Tony, a Shetland Sheepdog and Harry, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
